Mruthyunjaya Doddawada - About His Journey

My Journey...

Born on 24th of December 1973 in Gudisagara, Navalgunda (Tq). After schooling in Dharwad, studied Diploma in Automobile engineering from TSIT Hubli.

Born in a farmer family, his father Late Mr.Chandrashekara Doddawad and mother Ms.Susheela Doddawad were breadwinners for the family. Due to financial challenges could not pursue music interest in the early stage of his life and had to work in many menial jobs to support the family. Later, finally had to leave for Bangalore to pursue his passion without informing anyone at home.

In 1993, joined for Diploma in playback singing at Adarsha Film Institute under the guidance of N.Balasubramaniam, Manoranjan Prabakar and M.M Harry and secured first class. Even in those difficult days, he managed to by a Harmonium and started learning Carnatic classical music.

For few months in 1994 started learning light music under Sri Rajuananthaswamy.

In 1995 he made his first earning as a musician, where he first started learning keyboard from Sri S.R. James, then worked as Assistant keyword teacher at James institute of modern music school. He even took one on one classes at various places.

In 1996, Worked as music teacher in VET school, and in the meanwhile joined few music troops as a keyboard player.

In 2000, Worked as a keyboard player, Singer and music director in a well-known music school named “Sound of music” headed by Sri Gururaj. Meanwhile, was a lead keyboard player for Udaya Tv music show “kuhu-kuhu”.

From 1995 to 2000, In these 5 years, he had accompanied with keyboard for various prominent singers of the country like S.P Balasubramanian, S Janaki, Vani Jayaram, P.B Srinivas and many other respected personalities in music. He was also part of live programmes like ETV’s Vijayayosthava at mysore and “Noorondhu savinenapu” which was held at Tumakuru.

In 2001, made his first foreign tour for Dubai’s Karnatakosthava fest with Sound of music team and also shared stage with actor Dr.Vishnuvardhan as a singer and keyboard player.

A Dream comes true for years of hard work, determination and hardship, MD started his music school – Sangeetha Dhaama - on 13th of April 2003., it was inaugurated by well-known artist and singer B.Jayashree. In 2005, Sangeeta dhama celebrated its 2nd anniversary by organizing “bhavagaana Vibhava” program.

From 2005, he started composing music and made few albums, namely “Vah Vah Unni” – a Malayalam chrisitian devotional song and in 2006 “durgada sobagu” a devotional song on Chitradurag’s local deity Goddess devi.

In 2006, a collection of songs was composed in honor of the village deity Sri Durga of Chitradurga, and it was subsequently released as a CD titled 'Durgada Sobhagu'.

In 2007, a song collection titled 'Ragarangu' was composed and released. Dr. Doddarange Gawda written this songs. The song 'Yenu Maadidananna Modi' was sung by Dr. C Ashwath and marked his final contribution in the world of music.

In 2012, participated in the Akka Sammelana event in Atlanta, USA. Additionally, performed in various other cities, including Green Valley, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Chicago, and Malin, Indiana Police.

In 2011-12, I had the privilege of being a panelist on the prestigious Santha Shishunala selection committee.

Once more, in 2014, I took part in the Akka Sammelana in San Francisco, USA for the second time. I also had performances in various other cities, including New Jersey, New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Tampa, and more.

In November 2015, I participated in the Deepotsva event in Singapore. During this occasion, I organized a special program called 'Bhavadhare,' which was thoroughly enjoyed by the Kannadigas in attendance.

Since 2017, I have been serving as a jury member on the program 'SARIGAMAPA,' which is broadcast on ZEE Kannada.

In 2019, I was promoted as Grade two composer in Akashavani

In 2022, I was one of the adviser in Koti Kantta Gaayana organized by Karnataka Government for Bengaluru Gramanthara district. which was also broadcaseted on Chandana Dooradarshana

Presently I'm serving as president for Akhila Karnataka Sugama Sangeetha Sansthe Okoota
